Today has been an extremely bad day, and it's about to get worse.

Marie-Ange was shot during an assassination attempt directed at me. She's in surgery right now at St Vincent's, with Doug, Amanda and Wanda keeping watch. The assassin escaped, although I severely doubt there will be another attempt anytime soon.

Before that happened, she was describing a reoccuring prophetic dream about a storm and floods and the dead on the streets. She thought it might be related to New Orleans how, and mentioned enlisting Tante Mattie Deveroux's help. For those unaware, Tante is a voodoo mambo with powerful precognitive visions. She tutored Amanda and Marie-Ange a couple of years ago, and almost a decade ago, kept Gambit as her slave for six months.

What do these two things have in common? Everything.

On my desk was a couriered letter from Tante. It's a summons for Amanda and I back to New Orleans. Nothing more than come immediately.

Thanks to Ororo, who is on her way over, Hurricane Josephine, which hit the news today, is in the opinion of NOAA growing unnaturally large and will hit New Orleans as a Category Five storm. According to 'ro, that's as powerful as it gets.

An assassin tries to take me out right before a major storm is going to hit New Orleans, Tante has just ordered me down, and everything in Marie-Ange's dream related to us. In short, something major is up and it all points to my ex-wife Belladonna.
