I've just heard from Nate that the leather mob have been out stamping on people again - some of these Preserver fuckwits.

Afraid you all lost your shot at a two week holiday, since the human-bomb-making bastard did not make it through the stamping experience in one piece.

So: the Preservers are added to the threat list, but that's enough for now. Between them and our little outing to the middle east, you've all worked very bloody hard over the last month or two. Amanda's already declared her intent to take today off for personal reasons. I see no reason why the rest of you should not as well.

So: if you're already in the office: fuck off. If you're not, don't bother coming in.

Seems like the we caught a bit of a break: The US government caught a Preserver bomber the other day.

Here's where it gets interesting: according to Nate, the reason there was no explosive residue at the blast sites is that the explosions seem to have caused (assuming that this guy is the same as the others, anyway) by mutants losing control of their powers. Not just in the usual teenage early-manifestation way, though. There's another mutant out there who is able to cause other mutants to build up to some kind of explosive power discharge, with fatal consequences for them and large chunks of the nearby population.

This happened to the guy they caught, too. Jean Grey got what little info we have from the bastard's brain, shortly before he went critical. This had just happened when Nate dropped me a line and he'll pass along anything more once everything is a little calmer.

I swear, if CUNY calls one more time asking about the state's affirmative actions policies, I'm going to blast them straight to Albany. Their music might suck, but Metallica should give me enough power to do that.

I meant to post this this morning but those idiots kept me busy all day so I just remembered now. I know my club takes all kinds and we do get the occasional "omgz Magneto wuz rite" kind of person, but I noticed a whole cadre of folk talking about the Preservers this weekend. Not the kind of people you'd think were terrorists, though. They were young and could've been regulars except that I've never seen them before. I think they were trying to start shit but Rob scared them out of it. Nice to know that it just takes an ex-Marine who can absorb inorganic materials to stop a potential terrorist threat =/

Yeah, just thought I'd mention it. I don't know if it'll pan out to much, but I know that Remy would lodge his pole in an uncomfortable place if I didn't say anything, and he wouldn't even do it to be fun.

After a week of literally fuck all on these idiots, it's time to dial it back some. Everyone who's been basically camped out in the office, go home and get some sleep. Since we have at least one staff member that's been driven to attempted vehicluar suicide, it's time to take a bit of a break. Half days today and tomorrow, and we start fresh on Monday.

Pete, Betts, I've got copies of everything that the rest of the staff and our network has put together on this. I can't shake the feeling that we're not looking at it as a whole picture yet, and that's causing the trouble. While everyone else re-introduces themselves to the wonder that is eight hours of uninterrupted sleep, we need to sit down and figure out other strategies to go about this.

...how boring hate can get. Website after website of the same pretentious superior shite, over and over. Trying to find a common thread with the Preservers and anyone else is a bloody slow job, even for Research Girl. And of course all the anti-mutant groups are out in force, frothing at the mouth too. Still, it's keeping me busy while I try not to worry.

I hope someone over that side of the world is having better luck than I am. So far I can tell you who they _aren't_ connected to, which is just about everyone.

First of all: Yeah, like Amanda says, workup time. Who are these arseholes, who's running them, who are their mates, and how can we arrange to have an extremely public and messy example made of them?

Secondly: What, if any, ties to they have to Lensherr - that sounds like his uniquely fucking stupid brand of ideology to me?

Thirdly: Why am I only hearing about them now? How did we miss this?

Lastly: the first one of you that arranges for me to spend ten mintues alone in a room with the man who arranged for the exploding fuckups will get my undying gratitude. In practical terms: I will personally pay for a two week holiday wherever you want, if you can accomplish it.

Okay, I've been working pretty much non-stop on this. Pete confirms that there was no trace of conventional explosives in Tel Aviv. In fact, there was no trace of conventional explosives at -any- of the sites that were blown up. Which definitely starts to ping my Weird Shit-o-Meter.

That's as much as I've got right now, though. Yes, Pete, I'll keep digging. If someone could go get me another case of Mountain Dew and one of Red Bull...yeah, that'd be great.

It's not even the crack of sparrowshit yet, but Nate called me half an hour ago, and I've just got off the phone with Emma. Domino and Angelo are among those hurt. Amanda, Mrs Espinosa and I are leaving for Tel Aviv on Emma's jet just as soon as Amanda gets back with Angelo's mum and I'm done writing this. I thought I'd let the rest of you catch on the morning news, because that's the last lie-in any of you are likely to get for the near future.

I'm sure you all know this, but I'm saying it anyway: I want answers very fucking fast. Who did this, and how the fuck did we not know that someone was planning to strike our friends? Given the part of the world, there's quite a list of choices.

I'm sorry folks, but your weekends are all cancelled. As is pretty much everything that is not a minimum of sleep and breaks for food and drink.

I've called Yossi, and I'll go see him just as soon as I can once we've landed, so with any luck, I'll be able to pass on what the Israeli's have with only a modicum of alterations.
