Potential item of interest

News cycle's been pretty slow over the holidays, but I did find something. May be nothing, may be something, I'm not sure.

Since the Crazy Southwest Death Worms, I've been working a journalist contact named Gil Floyd. Well, to be more precise, Gil has been exchanging the occasional tidbit with everyone's favorite cub tabloid reporter Nick Wood. Gil does a lot of work covering military research and testing, especially the old shut down projects.

Anyhow, there's an item in the daily feed about Gil having vanished. His car was found, and there's a search party out, but it seems like he just walked away and disappeared. Last I talked to him, he was going to investigate an old nuclear launch base in a town called Adenville.

So yeah, not sure whether this might be something or not, but my "weird shit" sense is tingling a bit.

What was he investigating? This could just as easily be him having an extended New Years Eve... bender? Or perhaps he is in one of the local hospitals.

I can tell you are already going to make the Face at me, so I will start making phone calls. That health privacy act seems to mean so little to nursing aids who want to have 50 dollars sent to them via Western Union.

If they didn't want leaky security, they'd have a decent public health system in place, instead of the crazy shite they have now. You take the hospitals, I'll... make pouty faces at Sofia to try her cop contacts, in case he's in the drunk tank somewhere without ID?

And last time Doug's 'weird shit' sense tingled, there were giant worms. There'd better not be bugs this time.

Or they would pay the nurses better so that I had to bribe them with more. Although I suppose I should be grateful.

Doug is twitching and making faces. Perhaps we should not talk about the bugs where he can see? He already made me hide the honey container with the pictures of bees on it.

With some of the noises being made from Ms. Frost's office? Yeah, cheap bribes are good bribes.

Hell, I had a cockroach in my kitchen the other day and I screamed like a little girl - he's not the only one with work-related bug issues.
