Look like everyone had fun while I was a guest of the charming Mengo Brothers. No, I don't really want to give any particular details about my unintended vacation, other than to say that they are now well paid future contacts. Welcome to the wonderful world of mercenary politics.
I'll be out of the field for a week or so, until I'm healed enough to resume my usual duties, and remind people that I'm not dead. Looks like Betts and the rest of you kept everything here up to date, so I can just jump back in. There's a couple of little things to clear up.
First, Zakhorov is dead, message delivered. Well done everyone. Vazhin is going to be particularly happy when he finds this out, which is good, because we need some assets from our Russian 'friend' which he isn't going to want to give up lightly. One canceled coup puts a big favour in our column.
I doubt this is coming as a shock, but you're going to have to take turns manning the front desk from now on. Mark's been hearing some serious rumblings going on, rumours of a couple of potentially nasty things through his subculture contacts. For the meantime, he's more valuable working the club and his scene full-time to see what he can dig up. He's moving out of the Brownstone, to get some separation for his cover. He'll be part of our weekly briefings, but otherwise, we're going to give him some distance to do what we hired him to do. It means a few less nights at Finnigans, and thankfully, a few less fucking Madonna marathons at the office.
Anyone needs me, I plan to be dead to the world on my couch in about eight minutes.
