Red X and Hawaii

So, I spent yesterday afternoon talking to various people and sorting things out. Seems that with the amount of media coverage with this Hawaii thing, and the part where it's a smaller area, especially around the evac centres, Pete doesn't think it's a good idea for those of us who are/were card-carrying Red X people to actually go out there. Too much risk of having our faces splashed on international news, and after the invasion to China that didn't happen, exposure is the last thing we want. So, he's asking us to stay put. Very nicely, in that way that means there might be chaining people to their desks if they don't. ;)
Doesn't mean we can't do anything, tho'. Job this big needs a lot of coordinating, and they're asking for help down at the Red X offices, 'specially in terms of data tracking and the rest. Plus there's food parcels etc to be gotten together and shipped out. Plus, everyone's favourite, research - Pete wants info on this "Pele" bint, especially the part where we work out whether she is a goddess or just someone with an over-healthy ego.
Mark, if you're moving in, let me know - I can get the mini-bus to help transport stuff, since the kids are mostly in Hawaii this weekend.
