Well, my news is not nearly as interesting as Pete's
Gang-
My news isn't nearly as interesting as Pete's, but in my usual morning take from the usual tabloids and urban legends sites, I found something that looks like it might have some meat to it. A story about a trucker who claims to have run over a -werewolf- just outside of a small town in Tennessee. The 'interview' said he saw a human shape on the road ahead of him and didn't have time to swerve or slow down, except that an instant before contact he swears he saw a wolf-like shape made of 'liquid mercury' running into the woods. He stopped, but there wasn't a body, just a skin, apparantly human.
The article in the 'paper' (I use that term loosely) said that the local medical examiner said that there was no damage to the skin.
Now, that wouldn't be the strange thing, except that there's also a missing person's report, actually, five of them, from the same place. Local high school students, and since I can't find any report of them being found, they've been missing at least a week.

Otherwise... maybe our mates with the mutant kidnapping ring have popped up again. And how much good are us Junior Trenches with the buckethead thing any way? Angie's not gotten any pings off her pre-cog, and Doug's gone through all the media stuff we've got. And unless you can bring me his toothbrush or something, I've got nothing - at least you lot have that world-wide network of contacts to check with, yeah? Most of who don't want to deal with anyone else, but especially 'kids'.
I think maybe we should check it out, if it's not a new mutant. Wouldn't take more than a day or two.

A few days, tops - like you say, a couple of days fresh air might be a good idea, at the least. If you haven't found anything more than some missing persons pretty quickly, then we leave for local law enforcement to pick up.

We should talk about this over the lunch I nearly missed due to spending the last two hours with a deck of tarot cards and every news article on Magneto I could find. I hate that man.

Yes, that's a scientific term.

Ooh, can we stop by Dollywood on the way home?

Oh, I've just had a fucking brilliant idea. Fancy going back to school, Mark?

And Mark, one more word for you: "Cheerleaders".

Of course, I'm not the one you're sending back to school.
