Dinners

I could go invite each of you personally, but that would interrupt this vocabulary-for-rice quiz I'm taking, and the starving children of Africa need me.

Anyway. I bought a Big Honking Turkey and only now realized that I forgot to actually tell you guys that Thanksgiving dinner is at my place. If you love me, then you'll come and contribute to the cause. We require some veggie dish(es), cornbread, cranberry sauce (the real kind, nothing out of the can that's shaped like the can), pies, and beverages of your choice. Dunno if any of you are going elsewhere, and I know some of you are furrners (two of whom are the bad guys in this story), but there really isn't any excuse for not coming.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can entice Emma to come, too?

*phbbts* Well, you're not as bad as a couple of Aussies I met once in Brighton. They call their country-founding holiday "Invasion Day" and make snarky comments about a bunch of English ruling class wankers I've never even heard of before whenever they talk to a Brit.

That being said... food? That isn't out of a microwave, a can or a frying pan? I'm in. I can bring... um. Something from that bakery Kyle found his donuts at? That's suitably Thanksgiving-ish?

If someone who is not me is cooking, I am always happy to eat the food but bring the wine.

None of this is any of my fault but I will eat your turkey nonetheless. I do not think Doug's family is having us for the holidays this year. Doug? Are they? I always forget.

What was that, yanqui filth?

Yes, I will be happy to celebrate with you. In keeping with the spirit of the occasion, I will be bringing you disease ridden blankets, and moving into your home once you're dead.

Well, I suppose I should take the rest of the afternoon off to start planning the baking, yes? Yes. And why would you eat something that's shaped like the can it came in?

The fact that the only one that claims to be able to cook in this entire brownstone is Mark entertains me. A lot.

I'll be there, and see what I can find at Ho's market to make some dirty rice and cornbread stuffing.

Real cranberry sauce is just gross.

What else does Thanksgiving consist of, food wise? I was only in America for a year before I moved back permanently.

Would someone look up for me what libary has the most back issues of Martha Stewart? I hate reading online.
